  • SoFi's Growth

examines SoFi's impressive financial performance, highlighting its potential impact on the SPAC market. The company reported a 60% revenue growth, reaching $450 million, and narrowed its losses significantly, which led to a 12% rise in its stock price 1. Scott notes that SoFi aims to become the "AWS of fintech," offering services that other financial institutions can adopt, which contributed to a 62% revenue increase in their platform 2.

It's interesting because SPACs have become synonymous with a company that shouldn't have gone public and has underperformed. But it would be, I think, irrational and unfair not to believe that there is some chicken salad amongst the chicken shit here.

    ---

This performance could encourage investors to reconsider the potential of SPACs, despite their controversial reputation.

    Economic Outlook

Scott shares a bullish outlook on the economy, suggesting that fears of a recession may be unfounded. He points out the strong economic indicators, such as a 6.7% increase in real GDP and the addition of 4.5 million jobs in 2022, which contradict the prevailing pessimism among Americans 3. Scott believes that the tech sector will see record earnings by the end of the year, driven by factors like AI and layoffs 4.

My prediction is this is the recession that never materializes. We have, on a lot of levels, a pretty strong economy right now.

    ---

He argues that the constant worry about a recession has led to preparations that make it less likely to occur.
